Moon Magnet Making Part 2 (Video)

Hey Moonbeams! In last week’s video, I set us up for the making of the moon magnets. In this video I’ll take us through highlights of the steps including finishing the tiny paintings to gluing the magnets to the backs. Video and transcript are below. Part 3, likely coming next week, will be the resin process and what I actually plan to do with these beauties when they are finished. Watch, stay tuned, share love, and enjoy. ;-)

Hey Moonbeams! This is moon magnet making part 2, where I finish the paintings and start to assemble the magnets. So, after I have gotten all of these darling baby little moonscapes cut out the next step is to paint the wooden discs. I chose a shimmery silver this time. I’ve done black in the past, and I’ve done white. But I thought silver was nice and moon-like. Felt appropriate for this round of things. Once all of the discs are painted and dry, I get out my favorite Mod Podge and start to adhere all of the tiny little moonscapes to their respective discs. And once these little guys are nice and stuck to their silver discs, I start the magnet gluing process using my favorite super glue, Gorilla Gel Xl. I make tiny dots and stick those extremely magnetic little suckers on to the backs of these. And voila! We have moon magnets. Next steps after this will be the resin process. Stay tuned!
